Sophia (Σoφíα, Greek for "wisdom") is a central term in Hellenistic philosophy and religion, Gnosticism and Christianity. She is a feminine figure, analogous to the human soul but also simultaneously one of the Feminine aspects of God and the Bride of Christ.

Sophia is adopted as the term in the Septuagint for Hebrew חכמות Hokmot.

In Judaism, Chokhmah appears alongside the Shekinah, 'the Glory of God', a figure who plays a key role in the cosmology of the Kabbalists as an expression of the feminine aspect of God. In Christian theology, Chokmah (Sophia, Sapientia) is describes an aspect of God or is another name for Jesus Christ. In the Holy Family, Sophia is often taken to be represented by Mary. In particular in the Russian Orthodox Church, Sophia has been championed as a key part of the Godhead by religious thinkers. The Eastern Orthodox Church, teaches that she is the same person as the Divine Logos, referred to in the feminine, who became incarnate as Jesus Christ.


The Philo Sophia is many of the major works in philosophy and theology  including the Restored Name Bible and Apocrypha. It is meant to resolve a common error among most  religious text translations; namely, the elimination of the proper salutations for the the Divine Source. Because the profound significance of the proper tiles and salutations has been generally overlooked, these texts are restored grammatically  to honor The Spirit of Wisdom. The Philo Sophia is a comprehensive effort to restore the integrity which was present in the originals. Special attention has been given to the restoration of the set apart names to make possible the wholehearted integration of doctrine, and belief.
